“The Pluripossible Box” purchased by Dreamforge Anvil Magazine

I’m happy to announce that my story, “The Pluripossible Box” (Science Fiction, 3,500 words) was just bought by Dreamforge Anvil (click for subscription info). The story is expected to appear in print sometime later this year.

I started this story by simply writing the line: “What’s in this box?” without having any idea where it would go. What resulted was a rollicking adventure that eventually takes that question to a logical extreme.

Dreamforge was the eighth market I submitted this story to, it had been in slushpiles since September 2019. Persistence, as always, pays off!

Although Dreamforge Anvil is no longer a pro market due to troubles caused by Covid, it has rebooted recently using a Kickstarter funding model and is one of the higher paying semipro markets at 6 cents per word (pro is 8 cents).

Dreamforge has always had a great reputation and I’m thrilled to be a part of their rebirth as Dreamforge Anvil. They said in their guidelines that they were looking for stories with a positive message and so it is a great home for this particular story, which ultimately is about the power of love. I’ll be submitting to Dreamforge Anvil again when they open back up for reading.
